On a whim I bought a Silhouette Cameo. For those who don’t know what it is– it is a machine that you use to be crafty! Yes, that is the best explanation I could come up with right now! Anyways… I figured I would tune in to my creative bones and try it out. I was really excited about this thing. I bought it at the beginning of December and didn’t take it out of the box until the end of January.
Truth be told– the only reason I took it out then is because my son’s first birthday party was February 2nd and I needed to make crafty things for it. There was no way I could buy a bajillion things for his birthday party when that was a part of my argument for getting it, right?! “We could save money… I could make a, b, and c instead of buying it.”
Yeah, so I opened it. I played around with it. Looked at some tutorials and starting making things!
These shirts I made have by far been my favorite thing to date. Which really isn’t saying a whole lot since I still haven’t used my machine that much. I will say if you plan on getting a Silhouette for making shirts, get a heat press! It is seriously a game changer and really a must have if you plan on making lots of shirts!
Here are some picture of us in our shirts. My husband was quite surprise that I made him a ‘Smalls’ shirt and informed me that the only reason he wore it was for Mother’s Day. He further said he will not be wearing it again (eye roll)– at least I got pictures of him wearing it once! 🙂
So from these pictures you can tell three things. My kids miraculously are able to keep their clothes so clean, my husband loved his shirt, and my son was so happy and willing to cooperate to take these pictures. Disclaimer about how messy my kids look: I had a mom photography fail and took these pictures after a trip to Baskin Robbins!
I really enjoyed making these shirts. I have a thing for matching. Seriously. I love it. It makes for great pictures and it brings my family together. That’s why I’m so glad I bought this machine… there are many matching shirts that will be made.
Who has a Silhouette? Do you love it? How often do you use it?
